The third SGA candidate spotlight: โWe would like to perfect our school in a way that makes it an environment that students look forward to being in. We also want to characterize our school according to the student body and itโs voice, i.e., giving our students a creative outlet. Lastly, we want to use this position to put studentsโ desires into action.โ
Paige Wenger and Stephanie Lakatosh

Our Second SGA Spotlight is juniors Ryan Lovelace and Rishi Soni. They are running for Student Body President and Vice President respectively. Ryan is a state champion and school record holder for our track and field and cross country teams. Ryan is also involved with the NHS, the Leadership Program, and CHSLive. Rishi is the vice president of Science Olympiad, vice president of the Environmental Awareness Association, and the electrical lead on the FIRST Robotics team. Rishi is also an International Science and Engineering Fair finalist and the winner of the Tennessee Junior Academy of Sciences. He is also involved in NHS, SNHS, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership program. Ryan and Rishi have an average ACT score of 34.
Both Ryan and Rishi have grown up in Cleveland City Schools, having been together since kindergarten at Yates Primary. โWe want to be a representative for everyone at CHS. No one loves this school as much as we do, that is why we are the best option for Student Body President and Vice President. Make sure to VOTE FOR RYAN AND RISHI on May 5th-7th.

Our Graduates of Distinction Celebration was tonight. We honored the 30 Blue Raiders who will finish their high school experience with a 4.0 GPA along with a teacher who pushed them along the way. It was a special night for our students, families, and teachers.

This week, Student Government Association started their campaigns for Presidential and Vice Presidential representative elections! Our first spotlight for these candidates goes to Leah Hargis and Aleigha Thomas. Combined, they are involved in the freshman mentor program, FCA leadership team, NHS, SNHS, Jr. Civitan, SGA, CHSlive, Criminal Justice, CHS Football/Wrestling Cheer. Outside of the school these young ladies are involved in the Distinguished Young Women program, and have received the Daughters of the American Revolution Youth Citizenship Award.
โOur goals are to celebrate diversity between individuals whilst diminishing animosity and establishing unity throughout the student body and staff. We want to highlight mental health awareness in order to create and keep CHS a healthy and successful environment. We believe it is important to celebrate studentโs progression over perfection.โ
-Leah Hargis & Aleigha Thomas
Keep an eye out for these two girls as they continue to campaign and grow their plans for a hopeful 2021-2022 school year! Remember to vote Leah and Aleigha on May 5-7th for SGA President and Vice President!
