The third SGA candidate spotlight: “We would like to perfect our school in a way that makes it an environment that students look forward to being in. We also want to characterize our school according to the student body and it’s voice, i.e., giving our students a creative outlet. Lastly, we want to use this position to put students’ desires into action.”

Our Second SGA Spotlight is juniors Ryan Lovelace and Rishi Soni. They are running for Student Body President and Vice President respectively. Ryan is a state champion and school record holder for our track and field and cross country teams. Ryan is also involved with the NHS, the Leadership Program, and CHSLive. Rishi is the vice president of Science Olympiad, vice president of the Environmental Awareness Association, and the electrical lead on the FIRST Robotics team. Rishi is also an International Science and Engineering Fair finalist and the winner of the Tennessee Junior Academy of Sciences. He is also involved in NHS, SNHS, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership program. Ryan and Rishi have an average ACT score of 34.
Both Ryan and Rishi have grown up in Cleveland City Schools, having been together since kindergarten at Yates Primary. “We want to be a representative for everyone at CHS. No one loves this school as much as we do, that is why we are the best option for Student Body President and Vice President. Make sure to VOTE FOR RYAN AND RISHI on May 5th-7th.
Our Graduates of Distinction Celebration was tonight. We honored the 30 Blue Raiders who will finish their high school experience with a 4.0 GPA along with a teacher who pushed them along the way. It was a special night for our students, families, and teachers.

This week, Student Government Association started their campaigns for Presidential and Vice Presidential representative elections! Our first spotlight for these candidates goes to Leah Hargis and Aleigha Thomas. Combined, they are involved in the freshman mentor program, FCA leadership team, NHS, SNHS, Jr. Civitan, SGA, CHSlive, Criminal Justice, CHS Football/Wrestling Cheer. Outside of the school these young ladies are involved in the Distinguished Young Women program, and have received the Daughters of the American Revolution Youth Citizenship Award.
“Our goals are to celebrate diversity between individuals whilst diminishing animosity and establishing unity throughout the student body and staff. We want to highlight mental health awareness in order to create and keep CHS a healthy and successful environment. We believe it is important to celebrate student’s progression over perfection.”

Raider Drive was exciting tonight! Softball, Baseball and Soccer were all home tonight! Softball came up short vs McMinn, Baseball with a strong finish against McMinn 4-2 to finish 2nd in the district race, and Soccer dominated Loudon 8-0. Tennis was on the road at Ooltewah.

Jadyn Dauphinais just went 1:01.50 in the 100 fly. That’s a new school record.
Jadyn Dauphinais finished the 200 IM at 2:19.62 (new PR) and Sara Pirtle finished the 200 IM at 2:26.54.
Jacob McDaniel finished 1:45.35 in 200 freestyle beating his own school record.
Luke Hunt just went 21.70 in the 50 freestyle - another New school record

In one race Tinia James and Allie Oliver ran the 2 fastest times ever in the 300 hurdles at Cleveland High School

Ryan Lovelace wins the 1600 in 4:18 for his personal best time.
Kategie Caseus, Tinia James, Janay Ryan and Janisa Ryan broke the girls 4 x 100 record of 49.39 from 2012.
Today they ran 49.07.
Janay Ryan, Jenna Bosserdet, Tinia James, Kategie Caseus won the 4x400 in just 4:10:10.
Way to go Blue Raiders!
Our senior baseball players were celebrated tonight as they highlighted their favorite teacher and were joined on the field with their families. The class of 2021 has been fun to watch!
